Drive inverters have to face a wide variety of challenges. However, every application is different as far as power, voltage, rotational speed or control are concerned. They are used to extend the start-up and speed behaviour or power and torque behaviour of AC motors and also DC motors. Drive inverters, also called frequency converters, are used in particular in the case of pumping and ventilation systems, locomotive and traction applications in addition to servo-drives.

IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) semiconductor components are used in many cases on drive inverters. They allow efficient control of the load current and thus protect the system against overload as well.

Indrivetec frequency converters – for maximum power

Indrivetec voltage DC link converters with 2 or 3-level technology feature state-of-the-art IGBTs. It is always ensured that semiconductors from various suppliers can be used in order to be able to respond flexibly to changes in the markets.

The IGBT voltage DC link converters are eminently suitable for ASM or SM drives.

Our inverters and converters are able to operate both DASMs and ASMs as drives or as generators. On synchronous motors, permanent-magnet machines or external excited machines can be operated as drives or as generators. Power ratings up to 10 MW and voltages of 400 V AC to 1 kV AC are possible as standard. Our development team can also implement higher voltages, e.g. 3.3 kV AC.

The optional STO (Safe Torque Off) safety function certified by TÜV SÜD ensures a wide range of applications, such as: in passenger transport or other applications with high safety requirements.
